So this is a bit of tricky subject to write about, not least because of the title. Over the last few years I’ve really been struggling with Dyslexia as I do more and more admin and emails to do with work. I didn’t even realise I had it until a few years ago and it’s slowly got worse and worse the more writing and admin I do.
For the purpose of the subject matter and purely down to the fact that I’m sick of worrying about it and correcting literally everything that write. I’m going to leave all the mistakes I make in this little writing piece.
The problem I have is that I seem to not be able to communicate the sentence I construct in my head to my hands when I’m typing it out. Be that on a keyboard of a phone. I get simple words mixed up, maining words like by and my and ours and yours. But always writing words with just the letters the wrong way wrong round. So I might spell pub like bup. It’s gotten to the point now where it’s become hard to write a single sentence without some sort of basic mistake. These aren’t grammar mistakes, I know how to spell the words I’m trying to write. I’m just writing something different from what my brain is telling me. It’s making my job so much harder. A simple email can take ages and it really kills productivity.
The other problem I have is that I can’t spot these mistakes so well either. So when I read what I write back I just read it the same as how I formulated it in my head, but not as it’s written. I’m use a grammerly program wish basically gets me out of jail a lot of the time but doesn’t always pick up the words I get mixed up with .
Not entirely sure what the benefit or purpose of writing about it is. Other than to get it off my chest. There just doesn’t seem to be to much information about it for adults out there. Just seems like it’s a problem for children which they discover in school. I’m wondering if it’s a common thing to discover in adulthood? Or even if it could be linked with the mobile phone or something?
Either way if anyone struggles with the same thing or has any advise I’m all ears.
